Beijing Metro Lines & Stations

In 2026, Beijing Metro network has completed Lines 1-19, adding new lines such as Line 17 Middle Section, Line 18 (Malianwa - Tiantongyuan East), and Line 6 South Extension, achieving more comprehensive operational coverage. Key information is as follows:

  • Backbone Lines: Line 1 connects Tiananmen and CBD core areas; Line 2 is a loop line covering hubs such as Xizhimen and Beijing Railway Station; after the full opening of Line 17, the whole journey from Jiahui Lake to Weilai Science City North only takes 66 minutes, diverting north-south passenger flow.
  • Airport Connection: Capital Airport can be directly reached via the Airport Line; Daxing Airport can be taken via the Beijing-Xiongan R1 Line (fully opened in 2026, initially operating from 4:00 to 1:00 the next day, and 24 hours in the long run).
  • Inter-provincial Planning: Line 22 (Pinggu Line) is expected to open at the end of 2026, connecting Chaoyang, Tongzhou in Beijing and Yanjiao in Hebei, with 5 stations in Yanjiao, and it only takes 32 minutes to reach CBD.

Beijing Metro Map - Operating Hours

  • Regular Operation: The first train time of each line ranges from 5:00 to 5:39 (e.g., 5:08 at Weilai Science City North Station of Line 17, 5:39 at Malianwa Station of Line 18), and the last train time ranges from 22:30 to 23:25 (e.g., the partial last train of Luyang Station of Line 6 is 23:25).
  • Special Line: The initial operating hours of Beijing-Xiongan R1 Line are 4:00 to 1:00 the next day, with a frequency of 3 minutes during peak hours and 10 minutes during off-peak hours, and the designed maximum speed is 200 km/h.

Good location, walking distance from Wangfujing. Excellent stay. Smooth check-in for my prepaid booking (1,000 RMB deposit required). The hotel features beautiful classic decor and spacious rooms. The shower pressure was impressive and the breakfast offered a wide variety of choices. Highly recommended.

I had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Central Beijing. The hotel is stylish and comfortable, but what impressed me most was the service. The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. A special shout‑out to the team who assisted me with ordering food delivery when my phone couldn’t register on the app. They handled everything smoothly and made the whole experience stress-free. Overall, a great stay with excellent hospitality. I would definitely recommend Sofitel Central Beijing to anyone visiting the city.

A great place to stay overall. Check-in was fuss-free. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The bed was large and there were 2 pillows of varying hardness. The toilet and shower area was separate and toilet even had a bathtub. Water pressure was good and the hot water came on easily. Amenity kit including toothbrush, toothpaste and shaver was provided at check in. Staff generally made good effort to improve the stay - providing water bottles and a radiator in the room on request. There was some communication difficulty when it came to having parcels left at the concierge though that was eventually sorted out. The hotel had a well equipped gym, a good length heated swimming pool, a hot tub and a sauna, with the facilities available for use till 11pm. Location is convenient, with the nearest metro station less than 10 minutes away.

Since we had arrived before the check-in time, we were allowed to leave our luggage. But when we came back and asked for help with our suitcases the receptionist said that he couldn't assist us. Our rooms were quite clean with AC and all the necessary amenities. We stayed on the 15th floor with a beautiful view. One of the main advantages is that you can get to the shopping mall by elevator from the hotel. And all this is next to the metro station. The staff hardly speaks English.

An absolutely luxurious stay. The breakfast and the on-site restaurant were top-tier, worthy of the finest dining experiences. The pool boasts a breathtaking view, though it was a shame that the opening hours (from 10:00 AM) didn't allow for an early morning swim. The gym was extremely large and had absolutely everything one could need. An incredible extra: having a washing machine in the room was so convenient! We also loved the unique loft-style (mezzanine) layout of the room.

We had a washer, drying rack and a scale in our room. There were a few restaurants in walking distance, but not too many choices. Everything was meticulously organized. His demeanor was humble and warm, with a friendly and natural smile. He was always quick to anticipate and fulfill our unspoken needs, showcasing incredible attention to detail in his service. Overall, Brian's service was professional, meticulous, and genuinely warm, truly reflecting Marriott's high standard of service and humanistic care. This experience was a bit disappointing! First, the good points: the accommodation package included a high-quality afternoon tea set, and the staff were very friendly! Now for the not-so-good parts: I'm not sure if it was due to the increased traffic during the May Day holiday, but the room cleaning was unsatisfactory. There were hairs everywhere, on the sofa and in the corners of the walls. I wonder if the previous guest had a pet. We had to request a second vacuum cleaning! The evening BBQ buffet was definitely something to avoid. I've never had such a terrible BBQ. It felt like an immature dish added on a whim without any proper menu development! There were no labels at the buffet counter, and all the BBQ items were mixed together. We had to ask the staff, who then had to ask the chef, and the chef would then explain each item one by one. It was basically a 'mystery box' buffet. The scallops were overcooked and a bit tough. There was no juice at the buffet, and a star-rated hotel actually served cold mixed noodles (liangpi)! The worst part was that the BBQ meat and grilled tendon weren't fully cooked. They lacked chewiness and that grilled flavor; it was more like they were par-boiled first and then grilled. The overall temperature of the food wasn't very hot, and if you didn't eat it quickly at your table, it would get cold. The only highlight was that the crayfish were decent. The watermelon at the buffet wasn't as good as the watermelon in the afternoon tea set. The dinner menu was actually worse than breakfast.

We stayed at the Bay Hillside during the May Day holiday with our child. The overall environment was serene and the air was fresh, making it perfect for a short family getaway. What I want to praise most is the incredibly thoughtful hotel service! During our stay, my child accidentally bumped their mouth. The lobby manager immediately came over to check on us and even specially sent a cute little plush toy and ice cream to comfort the child, which was very heartwarming. The butler service was also incredibly thorough. They thoughtfully pre-ordered a light breakfast suitable for young children, which was perfect for our little one's taste. They also proactively helped us arrange a late check-out, so we didn't have to rush with a child, which was incredibly convenient and considerate. The hotel's family-friendly facilities are comprehensive. The playground is large, with a soft play area suitable for younger children and various classes for kids over five. The environment is quiet and comfortable, and the staff are all enthusiastic and attentive. The attention to detail was exceptional. Our family holiday experience was perfect, and we will definitely stay here again!

Mutianyu Great Wall/Xiangshuihu Great Wall area Beijing|59.45km from city center
A truly great vacation isn't about an abundance of facilities, excessive service, or a high-brow experience. It's about that genuine sense of relaxation it gives you. During our two days at The Brickyard, we saw so many smiling faces. Everyone was happy, whether they were staying, dining, or just hanging out. You see glazed tile elements everywhere, and the design language in every corner, from the tile kilns, chimneys, and caves, to the flooring decorated with shattered glazed tiles. The former glazed tile factory has been reborn. There's no TV here, and while there's a gym, hot springs, spa, and nail salon, the facilities themselves fade into the background. Check-in, afternoon tea, breakfast, dinner, the rooms, the transportation – everything was perfect, just like coming home. It’s only 1 kilometer from Mutianyu Great Wall, and the hotel provided a private car transfer and even gifted us tickets. In the evenings there’s a bonfire, and in the afternoons, handicraft activities – absolutely no dull moments. The hotel is located in Bohai Town, nestled in a small mountain valley, with an abundance of negative oxygen ions and far from the noise of the 'Sleepless Valley.' All you hear are birds chirping, and you see the distant Great Wall and chestnut trees everywhere. Oh, and laughter, of course. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back! The rooms are clean and tidy, and come with a balcony. When checking in, you need to register your vehicle to park in the underground parking lot 🅿️, otherwise, you might be charged a parking fee. We had three king-size rooms, and 1119 had the best view, overlooking the lake from the balcony, with a beautiful sunrise in the morning. The room directly opposite could see the golf course behind, which was great for sunset views. The bathroom and bathtub are in separate spaces opposite each other, designed with two sinks for simultaneous use. The front desk is on the second floor, and the connecting corridor to the hot spring ♨️ is also on the same floor, though it's a bit of a walk. The buffet restaurant is on the first floor. Complimentary fruit was provided in the room.

Grand Hyatt Beijing in Dongcheng is an excellent choice for travelers seeking both comfort and convenience. Its prime location near two metro stations and within walking distance to Wangfujing makes it easy to explore the city. The views from the rooms are appealing, offering glimpses of the bustling main street, though some traffic noise can be heard. A highlight of the hotel is the impressive swimming pool, which boasts excellent facilities, making it a must-visit. The rooms are clean and feature soft, comfortable bedding, even if they show a bit of age. Breakfast options are decent, providing a wide range of food, although the menu could benefit from more frequent updates. While WiFi access is limited by China's Great Firewall, preventing some websites from being accessed, the overall experience at Grand Hyatt Beijing is highly enjoyable, making it a great option for visitors to the city.

Hotel is super modern, clean and in a great location. The hotel itself is in the more modern part of Beijing (which I personally prefer) while still being in a convenient location for all the important sights and attractions. There are ample food and shopping options around as it is directly connected to a big mall. The rooms are clean, modern and have everything you need. The shower was super spacious and the toilet was Japanese. The rooms were conveniently laid out and had a wonderful view of the CCTV building. The hotel also has an amazing gym which you can freely enter (including the pool). This is a full-sized gym and not just some machines put in a small room. All in all I had an amazing stay and would highly recommend if you are looking for something modern outside of the old parts of Beijing!

Every single detail — from the décor and color palette to the pillows and bed linens — was thoughtfully curated to perfection. The pool area was absolutely beautiful, and the gym was top-tier. I also can’t recommend the restaurant on the first floor enough — it was easily one of the best dinners I’ve ever had (and no, I’m not exaggerating). The service was excellent, but unfortunately, the hotel is quite old with an outdated overall design. The sink was at thigh-level for me, and the shower stall was made of glass, only covered by a thin curtain that still let light through. This was a challenge for someone like me who has trouble sleeping. The hotel is conveniently located near many restaurants and supermarkets, and it's only a ten-minute walk to the subway station. The breakfast buffet suited local tastes, but it was exactly the same every day for three days straight. Overall, it's not as good as a newer business hotel. Ordering takeout was also incredibly convenient (watching 'Dream of the Red Chamber' while enjoying bubble tea and braised dishes was just bliss). Although the hotel was a bit far from tourist attractions, it actually allowed us to take less popular routes, avoiding the crowds. This meant we had a good chance of getting a seat for the entire journey instead of standing, which was a huge relief (I honestly couldn't handle the crowded Beijing subway anymore during the last few days). Finally, a big shout-out to the front desk staff! The two ladies working on the evening of Jan 2nd and the afternoon of Jan 3rd were both gentle and enthusiastic.
